Dear Parishioners,

RE: Parish Mission at The Church of St Stephen, 2009

It is with great pleasure of faith, hope and love that I am writing to you on behalf of the whole parish community that we will be launching the Parish Mission 2009.

The last parish mission conducted was way back in the year 1974.

Apart from having a new parish church building and new amenities, etc, we also need spiritual renewal. What better way to achieve this than to have a parish mission reaching out to all our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We have engaged the Redemptorist Fathers and Brothers to help us in the work. The have graciously agreed to undertake this mission. The Redemptorist are missionaries in the church that specialize in conducting parish missions.

The mission team and I already have had a few meetings to plan and activate this mission. The Parish Mission will begin with the Triduum Masses in preparation for the feast of the Queenship of Mary. This will take place on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of August 2009, and will be followed with a visit to all homes in the parish by the missioners culminating with a novena masses and preaching in September 2009.

However, for the mission of bear fruits of the Holy Spirit, we need all parishioners to participate. Hence, we are reaching out to all parishioners seeking our co-operation and interest in allowing the Lord Jesus to visit, bless and touch your lives through the missioners.

To begin with, we hope that you will register with the parish office your residences (if you have not done so already). His will enable us to include you and your family in our parish mission programme, prayers, home visits, masses and fellowship. Indeed, a parish mission always brings the Lord’s abundant blessings upon each and every parishioner. We hope you will joyfully receive His blessings.

I am looking forward to seeing and knowing you better and also to share with you the Lord’s loving ministries with you.

Your Parish Priests,

Rev Fr John Khoo
and
Rev Fr Joseph Kanappilly
